Greenwood Park Apartments
Greenwood Park Apartments is a 122-unit, 15-building apartment community located in the affluent and historic Kenwood neighborhood, just 3 blocks north of President Obama’s private residence. Originally built in 1974, Greenwood Park was purchased by POAH in the summer of 2016. Renovations to the building began in 2019 and were completed in 2020. They included accessibility retrofits, roof, window and boiler replacement, new energy efficient lighting and appliances, and kitchen and bathrooms renovations. In partnership with Openlands, POAH replaced dozens of dead ash trees that lined the property’s walkways with new species of trees.
Greenwood Park Apartments is another phase of POAH's commitment to affordable housing in a vibrant, healthy and attractive urban community. The Kenwood neighborhood is close to the lakefront, high-performing schools, park district facilities, several shopping districts, and high frequency bus and train lines. The deeply affordable units are home to many longtime residents who value the sense of community at the property and its outstanding location.
